Community Groups & Events

My Life My Voice staff run and attend a growing number of Community Groups and Events throughout Aotearoa. These are all designed to help educate our community and to improve the lives of individuals by connecting in with other disabled people.

My Life Tasters Group

Are you in the Midcentral/Palmerston North Area and looking to learn something new? Be creative? Explore? Connect and meet others with other in your local disability community? Maybe have a sweet snack?

Our My Life Tasters Group is all about you and your community. Join us as we go to various places all over Palmerston North -- and even brainstorm ideas for what do next in the community!

NOTE: We normally meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month, however this might change on special occasions.

Events & Workshops

Ōkawa – Your Journey, Your Voice

This is an exciting opportunity for Tangata Whaikaha Māori to explore the rich traditions of Karanga and Whaikōrero. Join us for a special Noho designed to strengthen your voice, deepen your understanding, and connect with others.

Each person can register for 1 of 3 workshop below:

  • Karanga for Wahine (Women)

  • Whaikōrero for Tāne (Men)

  • Fundamental workshops for all genders on the meaning and importance of these practices

Come along to learn, connect, and grow in a welcoming and supportive environment.

When: Friday 16th May, 3:00 PM to Sunday 18th May, 4:00 PM
Where: St Michael's Marae, Palmerston North
Cost: Free (NOTE: Travel costs to and from the Noho are at your own expense)
Spaces: Limited to those in Midcentral and other regions across New Zealand
